(More customer reviews)I recently purchased a new desktop and laptop computer that use Windows Vista. My old computer still stumbles, bumbles, and fumbles along using Windows Mellenium. The poor thing cannot be upgraded. When it came time to transfer files from the old to the new computers, I found that Windows Vista has an option to do that for you. Not being familiar with WinVista (it has a learning curve that goes straight UP), and having three computers to consolidate files to, I purchased this data link to allow me to have control over my files and computers (two at a time of course). When I connected the data link to two computers using the USB connectors I was surprised to find that inside (?) the data link is a program that sets up your computers to think that the other computer is nothing more than an external storage device. I was able to transfer files back and forth by folder and individually. There was no learning curve. It was simply plug-n-play. My WinMe computer accepted the USB connection as if it was just another plug-in. The new WinVista computers did the same. I highly recommend this product to everyone. It will link any two computers that use USB connectors (My USB connections were 1.0 and 2.0). It worked great for me. There was no indication in the packaging that the data link was self-installing and usable. I was pleasantly surprised it was so easy to use.
