(More customer reviews)I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop. I ordered this hard drive to replace the original drive that crashed and burned. The new Seagate hard drive is now installed and works perfectly. I reinstalled Windows XP on it without any issues whatsoever.
However, the hard drive comes with mounting tabs on one end and and one mounted screw on the other. They are not compatible with my laptop's mounting system, so I had to remove them. I'm sure some people would be reluctant, but it is no big deal to remove them. I wrapped the drive carefully to seal out any grindings, then used my Dremmel and a tiny grinding wheel to remove the two tabs and the mounting screw holder. After that, it was a snug fit but went in perfectly.
Note: The hard drive arrived with a little plastic handle mounted on the drive. don't remove it! That little tab makes a great device to hold onto when pulling the hard drive onto the SATA connectors.
