(More customer reviews)this hard drive replaced my original hard drive, I didn't know you could damage yor hard drive by bumping into your computer while the hard drive was running, it was supper easy to replace this hard drive myself. I just unplugged the old one and unscrewed it from the metal housing that held it. replaced the old w/ the new. done, less reinstalling the Windows disk that came w/ my computer. swapping the hard drives took all of 7 min., Windows installation took 2 hours.FYI
make sure you don't dispose of anything untill you get the new hard drive. I almost threw the housing away because I didn'tknow they were two seperate components, hard drive and housing.

this is the frist hard drive I have ever replaced but I have had them go out before and had no idea it was this easy and cheep to fix or I would have done it a long time ago w/ my first computer where I had and damaged the hard drive but didn'tknow that the hard drive was what was making that weard sound while it wasn't working right.
