It was an aftermarket replacement for my existing HDD, so I was quite glad to see that there was no special effort needed to install; it fit right into the old case and the SATA cable plugged right in. I fired up and formatted the disk with no problem and am happily writing this on a computer with an extra 400gb of disk space. I definitely recommend this upgrade and this company to anyone who needs more space on their laptop, just make sure your part numbers match and the rest is cake.
